Enlight Software

Enlight Software Limited is one of the world's leading developers of strategy and simulation games. The company was founded by Trevor Chan in 1993, with a goal of creating games that are not only entertaining, but of equal importance, enlightening.

Enlight's first product, Capitalism, published by Interactive Magic, has won industry awards and received accolades as the best business simulation game ever created. "Capitalism is the most realistic, detailed business sim on the market today, and one of the best economic games of all time," wrote PC Gamer.

With its remarkably high degree of realism, Capitalism has made the leap from playground to classroom. Harvard University and Stanford University pioneered the use of this award-winning business simulation in instructional purposes shortly after its release. Professor Tom Kosnik said, "Capitalism is a world-class, hands-on learning experience I've used at Stanford School of Engineering and Harvard Business School. Gamers not only learn the subtleties of growing an entrepreneurial business but also learn about leadership and team building necessary in any business situation. The game has also made its appearance on Business Week, The Discovery Channel, and CNBC-TV Cable.

Enlight then produced Capitalism Plus, the eagerly anticipated follow-up to the original. With a slew of new, exciting features, Capitalism Plus has been enthusiastically received by both existing Capitalism owners and strategic gamers, reinforcing the Capitalism series' dominating status in the business simulation genre.

Following the success of the Capitalism series, Enlight ventured into the real-time strategy game arena with its release of Seven Kingdoms. Featuring a level of strategic depth previously unseen in a real-time strategy game, Seven Kingdoms has been widely acclaimed by the media as a deep and engrossing empire building game, and arguably the best empire builder that plays in real-time. "There hasn't been an empire builder this good since Civilization II...Seven Kingdoms is an outstanding game in every way," wrote GameSpot.

Along with nominations for Strategy Game of the Year from GameSpot and Online Gaming Review, it won the Best Overall Strategy Game of 1997 from Gaming Nexus and Strategy Game of the Year Award from PowerPlay, a leading gaming magazine in Germany.

The success of Seven Kingdoms has helped Enlight gain industrywide recognition as a premier developer of strategy games. But Enlight did not stop here. In order to give the gaming public an even better game, Enlight offered Seven Kingdoms: Ancient Adversaries which improved on the award-winning original with new terrain sets, new nationalities, new scenarios and new gameplay enhancements.

1999 saw the release of Seven Kingdoms II, the Fryhtan Wars. This is a greatly expanded overhauling of the Seven Kingdoms series, with stunning new graphics and gameplay. The sequel has become a major hit and garnered many awards, including the "Highly Recommended Award" from Games Domain and a perfect score from Game Power. Game Spot gave the game a score of 9.1 out 10 and wrote, "Trevor Chan has created a perfectly balanced conquest and combat game that deserves the widest possible audience, and has all the depth that Age of Empires lacked."

In cooperation with the Jackson Hole Higher Education Group, Enlight Software and higher education management guru William Massy have developed Virtual U. Enlight has an experienced and competent team of developers. Each member of the team is committed to creating original and high-quality games that are both fun and inspiring to play.
